Arrive and Drive Go-Kart Racing Programs at Oakland Valley, NY

 

FIRST RACING EXPERIENCE!

 

Never driven a racing go kart before? Considering getting started in karting? Just want to know how it feels to drive a race car? Come and enjoy the "First Racing Experience" at Oakland Valley Race Park, less than a two hour drive from New York, Westchester or Connecticut, Northern New Jersey or even Philadelphia. Drive a racing kart, on a real race track (not a parking lot), for just $55. **

 

This is NOT a concession track, nor are these concession go carts! These karts scoot along at close to 50 MPH. Racing instruction is mandatory prior to getting on track (and is included in the price). You also need to sign a release, and wear protective racing gear (provided at no extra cost). The "First Racing Experience" is the first step in the Hannen Motorsports Racing School ladder.

 

** Price breakdown as follows: $15 pit pass (insurance, drivers and non-drivers need to pay this fee to access the track), $15 daily license, and $25 for your first session on track. Additional sessions are $25.

Depending on the program, the karts are either the Birel N35 "Club Karts" (also known as Rock Karts), which are powered by a 9HP, 270cc Honda engine, or high performance 125cc (30 HP) racing go-karts.

Our most popular "Arrive and Drive" program is the Kart Endurance Challenge. In these races that range from 4 to 8 hours in length, drivers on a same team take turns driving their kart. No other form of racing gives you more track time for the dollar!!

 

Club Racing League: The Rock Kart Sprint Series at OVRP

 

The Rock Kart Sprint Series at OVRP is a spec Arrive and Drive series. Rock Karts are Birel N-35 racing karts designed for racing and safety, and powered by a 270cc Honda engine. The league runs on weekends in conjunction with most Club races (on Saturdays or Sundays). These are sprint races, and each driver is assigned a kart for the day.

Membership:

Membership is $100 for the year. This OVRP Club Membership also gives you the discounted rates on all Club Races during the year.

 

Race Format:

Leagues are to be held on weekends. The race format is as follows:
- Draw for kart
- two 10 minute practice session
- 5 minute qualifying session
- Two 10 lap heat races
- One 20 lap feature event (start event where you finished the pre-final)

 

Championship Points structure:

The base structure is as follows: 1st Place = 20, 2nd = 18, 3rd = 17, 4th = 16, 5th = 15, etc. The best 8 results count toward the championship.

 

PRICING:

$125 per race, excluding pit-pass ($15 per person), license & membership ($100 per year) and includes the use of the kart, tires, fuel, and even racing gear (helmet, gloves, racing jacket). The entry fee also covers "crash damages" (insurance): drivers are not responsible for damages to kart.

TAG 125cc High Performance Kart Rental

Hannen Motorsports has several high performance karts available for rental at Oakland Valley Race Park. The different karts include Rotax Max (Micro Max, Junior and Senior), as well as other TAG's and shifter karts.

 

Pricing for TAG or Rotax rentals at OVRP:

  • 2 Hour Program, weekdays: $250
  • 3 Hour Program, weekdays: $350
  • Saturday Open Practice: $350
  • Club Race: $450
